Services

Our focus at Pinfold House Veterinary Clinic is on keeping your pet well for as long as possible. Prevention of illness is better than cure - many problems can be avoided by regular health checks and vaccinations.

Vaccinations

Major infectious disease affecting cats, dogs and rabbits can be prevented by vaccinations.

Kittens can be vaccinated from nine weeks of age. Puppies can be vaccinated from six weeks of age. Cats and dogs both require an annual booster. A separate Kennel Cough vaccination is also available for dogs.

Rabbits can be vaccinated from six weeks of age. Vaccination is available against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease. Rabbits require an annual booster.

Parasite control

We recommend regular worming for your pet (usually four times per year) - we can provide a worming programme tailored to your pet's individual circumstances.

Successful flea control depends on an all round approach, which involves treating your pets and their environment. We can help you select the most effective, safe and suitable product for flea control depending upon your situation.

Neutering

Unwanted puppies and kittens can be prevented by neutering from twenty weeks of age for puppies and 12 weeks of age for kittens.. We also promote neutering of pet rabbits which can prevent serious disease and reduce behavioural problems. We are proud to be registered on the Kitten Neutering Database promoting early neutering of kittens.

Insurance

Our aim is to provide your pet with the best available veterinary care. This can become costly and therefore we strongly recommend you take out pet insurance so your pet’s health need never be compromised.

Microchipping

Microchipping will be compulsory for all dogs in England from 6th April 2016.  From this date all dogs in England must be microchipped and registered on an authorised microchip database by the age of 8 weeks and before transfer to a new keeper.  Owners will also be required to keep their contact details up to date on the microchip database.

Pet Healthcare Plan

Our Pet Healthcare Plan allows you to pay for routine preventative treatment (not covered by pet insurance) by monthly direct debit. As a plan member you will make savings on these treatments and be entitled to further discounts on many products and services.
